Wood screws have thin threads, blunt tips, and are soft. Self-tapping screws have thicker threads, sharp tips, and are hard. Self-tapping screws are screws with a drill bit, which can be used to drill, tap, and fix locks in one operation using specialized power tools.
Additionally, self-tapping screws are primarily used for connecting and securing thinner sheet materials, such as connecting color steel plates to each other, or connecting color steel plates to purlins and wall beams. Their penetration capability generally does not exceed 6mm.
